DISCLAIMER

If you are looking for a basic state approved driving school that can aid the issuing of a driving PERMIT we recommend these local schools:

Cypress Driving School
Safety-First Driving School

Advance Driver Training IS NOT a state approved driver training program, but rather an enhancement going beyond the state’s minimum driver education course.

Following are the requirements necessary for enrollment in an Advance Driver Training course:

1.   Anyone under the age of 18 MUST have completed a local, State Approved, basic driving program before enrolling in Advance Driver Training and you must have completed at least 6 months of required graduated drive time with a parent or other licensed individual over the age of 21.

2.   Upon having reached the age of 18, you may enroll with Advance Driver Training;  however, you must have passed the written exam administered by the State of Texas and have received a learner’s permit.  Having done so, you may now legally drive with anyone 21 years of age or older in the front passenger seat. It will then be a requirement of the State of Texas that you be tested on the road by an official with the Texas Department of Public Safety before receiving your driver’s license.

3.   NO CERTIFICATE WILL BE ISSUED for the completion of ANY course with Advance Driver Training that would allow you to by-pass the state driving test requirement.

There are NO EXEMPTIONS to the above stated requirements!
